    carb with no vaccum

     



    i just recently did a build up on a 350 it has a edelbrock 1406 carb on it and a accel hei ignition with vaccum advance

    the problem is i bought the pickup with a 400 sbc in it with those items on the engine
    THen i build my 350 and stuck em on the engine with no changes but now i have no vaccum coming out of my carb that hooks up to my vaccums advance. the other side which goes to my tranny has tons of vaccum can some please help

    You need to find a vac port below the throttle plate (butterflies). If there is no provision on the carb. throttle plate? you could "T" into the tranny vac line. Any plugged ports on the intake you could tap into? Anywhere on the intake ... or... intake side of the throttle plate should get you vacuum @ idle.

    hi . i ran into this problem awhile back and i found that if you have the idle crankedmup to high you'll loose vacume or it might not work. from the front ports an the carb?. don't know exactly why but you can give it a shot. and make sure that your timming is correct.
