Help with speed demon

I installed a set of Vortec heads and an RPM airgap manifold. Rebuilt the carb, adjusted everything, and I am still getting fuel dribbling from the secondary squirter. I have a regulator set at 5 psi. and have the float settings at the bottom of the sight glass but still am getting the seepage from the secondary squirter. Does anyone have any ideas on this or should I just call it a day and order a new carb!. It is almost like it is building up pressure inside the secondaryt bowl. This occurs if is running or if it is shut down. Any Ideas????????

As you stated about the only way it could dribble fuel while not running is it's building pressure on the secondary bowl. Are you sure the bowl vent is cleared. I know if you leave anything with a hole open around here you will end up with dire dobbers filling the wholes. What about the check ball or rubber check located in the bottom of the bowl, assuming it's built like a holley, are they ok. I have seen some trash get into the ball seat or even seen a rusty ball, check, the rubber check can also crap out. I can't see it being anything else, wouldn't think you need another carb.

Remove the secondary bowl, and metering block. You should see the thin secondary metering plate in there being held on by a bunch of clutch head screws. Remove the screws, and then the plate. Look real close at this plate and you may find that it is warped. I wish I had a picture to show you what I am describing, but the one I had is gone.

there is no thin secondary metering plate held on by clutch head screws. There is a bowl and a secondary metering block and then the main body:confused:

take off the rear bowl and metering block and put a flat file or straight edge across the main body of the carb and turn it up so you can see if there is daylight under the straight edge,if so the body is warped ,this is common on the holley,you can take it apart and carefully file it flat with a fine file,then replace your needle and seat with a new holley hi flow piece.good luck.

Every Demon i have bought (3 of them now) has had this problem. Just tear it apart and clean it out, there is some white debris that must be from the factory....it is almost teflon looking...all 3 of my Mighty Demons have had this problem...and they are on 3 diffrent cars, so it wasnt like i had crap floating around in the fuel system of one car
