Ford small block lifter in a Buick 455

Not a typo:D

I have a need for an oversize lifter that is no longer available from the factory and not in GM's stock in three continents

I have been told a possibilty is a Ford small block lifter, turned or ground to the correct size.

Info on the Ford Small Block hydrauilc lifter is apprciated. I need a diameter of .853" (stock is .842") and I am told that a FSB lifter is in the vicinity of .875". A club member of mine has told me this is possible, and he's done it.

A Technical drawing of the lifter would be ideal, but any info is apprciated

Sounds like the Ford lifter would be machined too thin. If it is a solid lifter, it would work, i think. However, if it has Hydraulic lifters, machining the sidewalls would thin the metal to cracking. I would personally look to other GM engines first. 455/425 Olds, 500 Caddy, 454 Chevy ect. Their probably a lot closer.

All GM hyd. lifters should be .842"...I need a .852"~.853" one...I'm worried about side wall thickness myself, but I'm gonna check that by cutting up one of them and measuring
