thanks. i will likely go ahead and use the c code heads . i have a t10 and another top loader for it. just need a flywheel. have a like new monster tack , race seats , some of the old bob glidden style wheels . biggest expense will be tires and paint supplies. of course we know how that goes. see something and gotta have it.
getting my godson into building is my main reason for doing this. that and i have not had a car to keep since 94

a couple commends about BBC in a Falcon-----------Shock towers are in the way-If you are going to do a straight axle and remove them-fenderwell headers etc------

Distributer at back of engine is a problem------------

IIRC the inlet/outlets of radiator are reversed for what you need right to left

oil pan sump------- again straight axle can fix that--------

If you do the BBC get some valve covers that say Ford!!!!!

    No substitute for cubic inches--------

Econoline axles---might be hard to find

I've got some Ford 9 inchers from Lincoln with disc brakes, a couple quick changes with 5 or 6 sets of gears, some BBC pro 2 1/4 headers---------

    Also lots of SBF stuff------

will build a new frame out of rectangular tube . only thing i will use is the core support and the top of the inner fenders. the 9.3:1 heads will be plenty. painters are crazy , in my days i wanted a race car with tags . it would be nice to run across some hp heads but that would blow my tire money .
i have a 9 in shortened to the right width for the falcon. also have a lincoln rear up on the hill w/disc . been dragging home stuff for about a year .

    Lincoln Versi???????

Its easy to open up the heads for bigger intake but exhaust with unleaded fuel00000000000000-----------------

Screw in studs isn't complicated-just need to machine bosses down enough for stud hex

And those heads on a 302 will have more compression because you got aprox 1 1/2 cubes more to squeeze

not sure. way too wide for the falcon. was hoping to put the disc on the narrowed 9 in . not even sure what it is other than a big bearing 9 in that was cut down to use in a 55 chevy with the spring perches inside.
a friend has a 347 he bought but it smoked from day one. he just pulled it and replaced it. may open it up to see what it is. has very little run time .

well i'm torn . this 289 is worth more than a set of heads . hate to tear it down since it is complete carb to pan . great for a restoration so i may sell it and buy a set of heads.
