Sounds like the pulley is a tad off paralel to the Crank and waterpump.
Either that or your Alernator bracket is looser than you think and it vibrates toward the motor causing the the belt to come off.Any dolt with a Torch and Welder can customize a car.
Real artists use what God bestowed on em.
