engine builders with knowledge of super chargers
I'm and old school geezer who was brought up that using a blower on a engine you needed less compression of no more than 8 or maybe 8.5. If any higher, you run the risk of detenation from running to lean. Now I see newer engines running blowers with higher compression of 9 or even higher. What is the difference? Are the newer engines better equipped with better computers to regulate the timing and or the compression in newer engines. I know if I put a bower on my 82 SBC that I would have to drop the compression from its 9.3 to no more than 8 for running 5 psi of boost.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!
