Will a rect port intake work on oval port heads?
I was hoping someone could tell me if my Edelbrock preformer intake with rect ports, would work with oval ports heads? i already own the intake, want to upgrade the engine to aluminum heads and i'm thinking that rect. port heads will be to "big" for a chevy BB 402. i was looking at buying edelbrock performer heads oval port 2.19/1.88. any help or comments would be greatly appreciated. i know it has to lose some performance, but it's basically for weekends and show.

You can do it works fine, just use they rect. port gasket. I wouldnt do it with a blown application though. This is what I have heard when I have asked the question on other forums.1930 model a , 1953 ford truck

thanks guys, your right i put the rect. gaskets against the heads and it looks like they'll seal just fine. i know it's not a perfect set-up, but does save about $350 for the cost of a new polished intake. also want to thank this forum for all the info about the pro comp heads, after lots of reading i've decided to stick with a name brand. can't afford to have to do this twice.
