    yep you do not run detergent in a old engine thats has allways had non detergent in it this is a big NO NO and as no ZDDP in it as well .if any zinc on the wear parts cam lifter s etc the detergent could strip it or block it if you added a can to the oil . detergents have gone up in the past years in oil and do not add any help on older engines some of the old oil gets in the blocks its like moly past even in the hot for 24 hours that stuff hang on if it start s working loose inside the engine it could be bad news
