    Small block oil pressure problem

    Hey!

I am new to this forum and glad to be here. Got a .040 over 350 SBC. Everything is brand new. Pistons, rings, bearings, etc, etc. I plastigauged all of the rod and main bearings. The crank was new and .010 under with a matching set of bearings. Everything was within specs.

The motor runs very strong. When I first start the motor, the oil pressure is around 60 psi at idle. Then I drive the car and it warms up and then the oil pressure drops to around 25 psi. And along with the pressure drop I get a lot of valve train noise from both banks and it is pissing me off to no end ! I gave the valves a second adjustment and the problem still exists. It sounds like an oil pressure problem to me. The filter is a FRAM and the oil is Castrol GTX 10-30. Looking for some advice here. Thanks in advance.

By any remote chance.... Did you put screw in oil restrictors in the lifter supply rails in the rear of the block?
