    Engine problem

Alright so I have a 79 chevy camaro with the original 305 in it. It has shaved heads, aftermarket intake, 600cfm 4 bbl (holley), and long tube headers. Thats all thats done to it. I bought it from a buddy that had it and am now the 3rd owner. He pulled the engine and tranny out rebuilt them and put them back in and drove it for about 2000 miles. It sat for about 8 months and ever since I got it all it does is pop out the passenger exhaust. Well I checked and found it doesnt fire in the #6 cylinder so its only running on 7 out of the 8 this whole time. The plug was pulled out and it was soaked in oil and gas. I set it on the engine and it sparks like crazy so its not a spark issue. And it has compression but just wont run on all 8 cylinders. So I think its a broke valve spring, or broke rocker arm, or burnt exhaust valve? Idk but i def. dnt think its a piston ring cuz it doesnt smoke at all. Any Ideas? What could cause this problem????????????
    Thanks anyone
