Tyler, my best advice is to make your first purchase a complete set of Factory Shop Manuals for the car. Not some cheezy repair guide you buy at Autozone, but the real deal.
I have bought all my manuals from Faxon for the past several decades and have always been pleased with the service they offer and the value of the manuals. In the case of your Cadillac, there is a used, good condition, original GM manual for $79 or a photocopy manual copied from the original service manual for $49. You choose.

Please do not start messing with the car until you have read about it in an original manual like I have presented here. Do it right or don't do it at all.

Okay, found my old spec book. Sez,"All 1963-66" use 18726543, left bank is 1357, right bank 2468.
That is terrible, sad to hear about him.
