Resister wire
I've got a old 72 Vett that my son and I converted over from points to a MSD system. I was told that if I replaced the stock wire that goes from the coil to the new Msd box that this would fix the missing problem I had.
I don't drive the car much, but had it out the other day and it started missing again, so I went to a friends and he test it and said the power dropped from 13 down to about 4. Would there be a resister wire some where else, or was I miss informed on the wire. Thanks Kurt

If you still have the ballast risistor installed, you need to remove it and send 12 volts to the coil.

T42; where would the ballast risistor installed be at, on the fire wall or inside the car.
Thanks Kurt

Should be on the firewall I would think.....about a 3inch long rectangular piece of white ceramic with a wire connector at each end.

Ya Denny; This thing has the resister in the wire.
Now that T42 described it. that sounds more like what I had in my old 71 Charger.
I don't have one of those in the Vett, I'm wondering if it could be comimng strait out of the Ignition switch?
I've already replaced the wire to the coil, and the power is still dropping off. Kurt

Well I've replaced all the wires except one now and I bet that's the one,
because the power is still dropping down to a couple of volts.I has to be in the steering colum it's self because all the other wires are new. What a pain in the but I should have done that one first I guess. Stupid Resister.
