holley 94 tri power
i have 3 holley 94 AA-1. I am wanting to build a tri power set up with them. I know you have to modify the end carbs by removing and blocking off the power valves and doing something to theidle circut but i'm not sure what. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Pictures would even be better if possible.

Tri Power was designed to work as a primary/secondary system. The primary carb is the the center one. It is the only one with a choke and the only one with a idle circut(because the engine runs on it exclusively at idle and off idle). It's just like running a 2 barrel. The secondaries are the end carbs and they are design to operate only when you got your foot in it just like your 4 barrel. There are no chokes,no idle circuits,If your carbs have idle circuits you will have to plug them. The throttle shaft is also different because it has to accept butterflies that are twice as thick as the primary butterflies.Keep smiling, it only hurts when you think it does!

Due to the low CFM rating of the old 3 bolt style carbs (155-185 CFM for the Holleys) they were/are normally run synchronized rather than progressive.
In this type of configuration the idle and power valve circuits are left intact. This setup usually requires a pretty fair amount of fine tuning (with a vacume synchronizer guage) to get adjusted correctly.
There is a pretty good explaination of the process in Tex Smiths Hemi book. It deals with a 4 carb setup on an early Hemi but pretty much covers it all.I've NEVER seen a car come from the factory that couldn't be improved.....
Welcome to CHR. I think that you need to hook up your vacuum advance. At part throttle when cruising you have less air and fuel in each cylinder, and the air-fuel mixture is not as densely packed...
