    tbi 350(heads)

My tbi 350 truck motor has "the worst heads gm made" has any one tried or heard about putting old style heads/intake on a tbi motor i read on a web site you could do it with a transdapt gm tbi to holley pattern adapter and a custom chip. i have a set of unused but 10 year old heads i bought but never used from areohead with 76cc,2.02/1.60, bowl porting 3 angle valve job and screw in studs (.500 or .525 springs cant remember) and i have an old style torquer intake id like to put em on plus a better cam than the 1 i put in and was just wondering if anybody had some imput on this conversion, thanks

What heads does the truck have now? I think the only difference on the heads is the center bolts on the intake, easy enough to drill the intake holes out so you can bolt it to the old style heads... Better let some of the chebbie guys get in here, but I don't really see where it'd be a problem...as long as the old heads are the same cc, if the old heads are a smaller chamber, you'll lose compression and performance.

I would not say that the #14102193 TBI 76cc swirl Port Heads on your Truck are the Worst SB Chevy Heads . The #624 350-400ci Heads are . Actually The #193 Heads are very good to use for Fuel Saver Torque SB Chevy Builds . You don't really want to Try Porting on them a Lot . As for running the other 76cc Heads with 2.02in / 1.60 ex and the Torker intake . Not a good set up for a Low C/R Street 350 . You will lose all kind of Low end Torque with the bigger Valves and Single plane intake . You can Run the #193 Swirl Port Heads . You will need to buy an intake Like the Edelbrock Performer #2104 . Either set of Heads are 76cc Chambers . With Thin .015" Head Gaskets the most C/R you can Make will be 8.75.1 . That is Ok for a Street Build on Todays 87 Fuel .
