Better measure your rocker studs and see if they have pulled up. You also might want to pull the cylinder head and make sure some pal hasn't thrown something down through the intake. Been there, done that. Hank
yep some thing did that:eek: and the the intake bolts go thru the heads and if you used to long of a intake bolt it will hit the pushrod but no one check the push rod for marks ?.i would be looking for a bent valve. and it looks like your intake could use a bottom trim from the old sealer looks less then 060 ? if so this can hold up the intakeQuote:

Denny, I consider myself lucky I had friends come to visit me while recouping from injury's, since then several of my friends that visited me have died from heart attacks. Sometimes/a lot of times I'm a pain in my wife's back side, I don't mean to be but after all of the accidents I'm not the same person, I'm sure you would agree. When you don't feel good it's hard to be tolerant even though I try. Well enough for that but we all have our row to hoe!!!
Richard
yep i know it very well sitting here waiting for the pain drugs to kick in they do not work :CRY:so i can go to work that at the end of the day i will be in more pain that i am in now to just get up to do at all over again trying this $hit for way to many years trying to liveQuote:

After taking my dose of meds, and sitting still for a couple hours I can begin to move around. You just never know what life has to offer, I mentioned in another post that I lost my brother last year. So if we are still able to have some time type of enjoyment then it's got to be a little better. Our grandkids, and old cars give me that little sparkle.

Well, its all back together again, went for a little drive, did a little burnout, runs like a champ, hopefully this will take some of the pain away.
Oh yeah I had to redo the valve lash on all the valves, I think that is what caused it, whoever set them(not me) did not do it right or they just loosened over time. There was vertical play in just about every pushrod.
Glad to see it survived. That was a very strange thing to see, those pushrods were all over the place. :D I've had them push a hole through the rocker arm, studs pull out, and studs break, but never saw what you had.
Hope it keeps on keepin on. :D :D
