I have a blower question

Hello, I'm running a sbc, with a 471 blower. I just purchased a demon blower carb and set everything up. The car seems to run fine, but when I turn the car off I notice a small amount of gas leaks out of the bottom of the blower. It appears to be coming out of the base gasket on the blower. It doesn't appear to leak a drop when the car is running. Just when you shut it off it seams to spit out, what I would consider unburned fuel. I'm not sure if this is a gasket issue with the blower, or some sort of carb setting. Having little to no experience with this I haven't really fooled around with the carb. I was just looking for any suggestions of what could cause this problem. I am trying to avoid taking the blower off to put in a thicker gasket, but If need be I guess I will have to. The gasket that is in there is brand new. thanks

Sounds like a gasket leak to me. There shouldn't be anything leaking from a gasket, that's why it's there.

If you decide to replace the gasket make sure you get new studs and nuts and also follow the torque specs. very carefully.

Make sure the float levels and fuel pressure are correct. The gasket should not leak but seems to me that fuel puddling in a blower would be a bad thing, perhaps leading to a mighty sneeze which may be destructive. The fuel leakin out actually helps prevent this. On the other hand fuel leaking is a fire waiting to happen. Be careful!

I have had issues with the same thing and in the end I O-Ringed the intake.Fortunately I was able to do that myself.I ran one of my blown engines with just an o-ring and it worked fine.The one I am running now is O-ringed and also running that gasket which has also worked.I was told to try this from a blower shop and it seems to be fine.Also the torque specs are important on the manifold studs.
