To make a long story short I was helping a buddy clean out his garage to make room for winter and ran across an engine that he nor I thought would ever had a use again a 64 gmc 305 v6, looks like a 409 or 348 with two cylinders missing. Since he owes me a few bucks and needs the space I am debating taking it off his hands but I don't know if this would be a cool motor to power my model A or not. I was set on the 351w/c4 combo I have but I remember this motor running straight pipes in a 65 chevy short bed he had just sounding excellent. The only reason this motor was pulled because not too many trannies could hold up behind it and cuz neither of us could find an auto flywheel for a glide to replace the the three speed, it led to its demise. Alos it had lost first gear long ago (even though the motor continued to torque off in 2nd gear for several months until he decided to do something about it) he switched in a v8 and glide. Now I am debating what I could used this motor with as far as trannies go wish I could find a flywheel for auto but I don't remember anything coming with this motor and an auto trans. I do have a truck 4spd with a long handle but the condition is unknown and I have a saginaw the inputs look the same as the busted three speed he still has but I am not an expert here. Any one have some suggestions on if this would be an okay swap.
