Cam lobes not centered?
Im pulling apart a 350 for a rebuild. I pulled the lifters out and it seems the cam lobes are not centered in the lifter hole. Is this normal? I attached a picture. Ive done lots of basic work on engines, but never a full teardown and rebuild, so forgive me for all my "newbie" questions.Thanks.

I should have mentioned that the lobe is off center towards the rear of the engine. In the photo the timing assembly is to the right. This would seem to indicate the cam is in too far? Is this possible?

The lobes are off set so the lifters turn in their bores. There's nothing wrong.

Whew, thanks. I assume the spin is to promote even wear and oil distribution in the bore? That would seem to make sense.
