leak fron oil pan
Is there any sensible way of sealing around the lip of an oil pan thats leaking oil because the pan was tighten to many times and forced the gasket to push out in spots. I've dropped the motor 3 times and really don't want to do it again if possible.

I could never figure out a way without dropping the pan. BTW, the only thing I ever found that really sealed one was some aircraft grade red RTV that I got a hold of when I worked at Douglas Aircraft.

oil pan gasket
The newer 1 piece gaskets from Fel-Pro seem to do a better job of sealing, also change from bolts to studs and put a flat washer between the pan and stud nut that should help flatten the pan out,try to torque to 15 foot lbs in a criss cross order.Good Luck!

Thanks Denny. Picked up a can and it seems to have stopped the leak. Will pull the engine this winter and change the pan.
