Did I find gold? WHat engines did the Winfield s model carbs go on (model T?)
Ok I have an old Chevy dealership shop in town that has been abandoned and locked up for years!!!! like 20 - 30, that just took over new ownership and they are gutting the place and throwing everything away. I got permission to dig through their metal dumpsters and this is what I first found (along with many blocks and cranks heads). it is a Dual Winfield carb set up with all linkages and choke bar and from what I can read (which is not much on the net) is that the S model was a racing carb as it had 3 fuel stages of acceleration that could be adjusted, also I read that they can be up or down draft. From what I am reading these were the carbs used model t fords... now I'm hoping to find someone who is familar with these old set ups and I'd like to know just how rare these are. In one place I read to find a complete dual matching set was next to impossible???? well I found one in a trash can with no parts missing, any clue to how much something like this is worth to the right collector? I dont build fords so it is of no use to me but I'd still like to know what I got.. heres some pics and thank you in advance.
