is ther an adapter that has a by pass built into it that will work on a 65 327 to convert to a spin on filter. The one I bought says I must use the original by pass that I do not have. The adapters that I have seen online with built in by pass specify 1968-72. Will one of these work on a 1965 bolck?

 Thanks

This gizmo from NAPA may be what you need....

As I remember, somewhere in the middle 60's Chev started to machine the oil filter boss for the stock spin on bracket....but you would have to look at yours to verify. This NAPA kit fits all of the old blocks.
