Moroso Spiral Flow vs. Dynomax Bullet Muffler

In an earler post I asked about putting a true dual exhaust on my daily driver, a 2004 Infiniti G35 Coupe 3.5L V-6. After much soul searching I just cannot justify the cost for a measly few HP over stock. The $$ to HP ratio is off.

Currently the car has a set of high flow cats. My best description of the sound is much like a V-8 Ferrari cruising. Not deep but not that annoying killer bee buzzing of a Civic.

I was thinking of replacing my factory resonator with one of the two mufflers listed above and using the factory muffler.

I want to keep the same tone as it has now, just louder. I DO NOT want that crappy Honda fart can sound. Some call that sound rasp. I also like that popping when decelerating in gear from a decent rpm.

that popping is caused by too low of back pressure in the exhaust system, which means you're loosing power from your car, and sacraficing gas mileage as well, lack of scavenging, far a good throaty sounds, use a spiral core and just have a factory fit flowmaster muffler welded in, a good exhaust shop will charge about $60 to weld in the muffler, and the flowmaster will cost you about $120.... that'll get you those few HP you're looking for, keep stock appearance and sound well and not cost you an arm and a leg

also my buddy totaled his 350z on friday night, he might be willing to sell his cams he had just put in it for cheap, and he has a few other parts interchangeable with the g35.... if you want i'll talk to him and see what he wants if he wants to get rid of the HiPo stuff before the insurance company takes his car off to the salvage yard

Thanks for the offer but the closest I want to getting into this motor is an oil change.

Popping may have been a bad description. Maybe a "burble" ? We get a lot of Z28's here in the shop with Borla exhaust and they have a little noise when letting off the gas after revving them up.

I was thinking that the Dynomax would be a bit much seeing as it it just a thinly disguised glasspack. I like them because they don't neck down I.D. like a glasspack. Maybe I'll try a Moroso muffler. It will only be a few $$ to find out.. :D

im about to put some spiral flows on my 454 that dump a few feet after the moroso's

spiral flows are very loud, they barely is a diff between them and open headers but i dont have any pipe after them and they exit under the seat of my 78 camaro
