Yep. Either the cross ram or tunnel ram are marginal on the street. Sure, we all run them sometimes for the evil appeal, but no question a single four on an aluminum dual plane is infinitely more streetable. But, that is the practical side of me talking.

If you are looking for different and some old time appeal, crossrams do have that going for them. I think performancewise they were not that popular, and somewhat shortlived.

Tunnel rams are generally suited to high rpm use, and although some people run them on the street and claim to have no problems, usually they are more dragstrip oriented.

With all that, I still like multiple carbs because I think they scream hot rod, and am willing to put up with the issues like faster fouling plugs, less gas milage, etc. It all depends on what you are trying to accomplish with your own application.

Neither.... go with an open plenum and maybe a spacer to add a bit more power......Your 60 ft. times will tell you what height spacer is correct. The crossrams were a farce, all show, no go....

Here's another one I stumbled over, sez it's power band is to 6500 but I would imagine with good heads and cam it would be a bit higher.... Just one more thing to confuse you!!!!!! It's called a Torklink. Don't remember who makes it, can find out if you're interested

The 450's should work great on your skinny block, used to run them on a 302 with all forged innards that really worked good with the 450's. I used an Edelbrock intake, probably not much different from the Weiand intake. Some say the 390's are better, never have run a set of them before so I don't know....

That's because Edelbrock SELLS 500 CFM carbs. Scooter is drag racing, the 450's will be a better carb for this application....
