Certainly not the best of the Ford engines, depends on what kind of performance level you are looking for with your pickup. As Don said, pretty much the standard performance stuff available for it, just not a huge selection to choose from like there is with a Windsor or a Big Block.

Most 400's are dogs. 351m's too. Get a Windsor for your project, much more power and burn half the gas. Clevelands look great, but parts are outrageously expensive, and they're "peaky", not the best for a daily driver.

a 351w would probably suit you best, its got great parts availability, and you have the options of anywhere from mild to wild
and if you just want more cubes... you can use a 427 stroker kit

Also you can put those heads on a windsor block and have a clevor or poor mans boss motor!!!You will need the street boss intake for those heads on a winsor block.....with a 427 stroker kit!!!!!
