sounds like hes one of those people that doesn't have innovation in mind and wants to just go with the old method thats been proven to at least work... i say tell him that you would rather be creative with your car than just be the same old #### that everyone else builds.... btw while you got the engine out.... pull the wiring harnesses and sand your engine bay down and slap a few coats of some high temp paint on there.... a clean engine bay just makes the engine look that much better
