run solid valve covers on 350???

I want to run valve covers on my 350 that have no holes...!

Can I do this by using an "old style" intake with the oil filler tube and breather cap???

    Thanks!

i'm not sure you can do that on the late model motors. you need a inlet and a outlet. might could drill a hole through the intake for the pcv valve and use the oil filler tube as the intake.

Yup, those old intakes had the filler tube up the front by the thermostat housing, they stuck out like a soe thumb in the publicity photos. Down the other end of the motor or manifold, I am not sure, cannot remember, they had an oil vent tube hanging off the motor that vented directly to the air. This was in the days before emissions. So you would be looking back at say a 1967 and earlier engines. It would not be legal so you would probably have to do as Denny suggests and cobble up a PVC system somehow to comply with the EPA

The problem with an old-style intake on a newer SBC is the old engine had a tube-like piece cast in the rear of the valley that went down to the crankcase. Using these manifolds on a newer engine without this passage just vents the valley, with no circulation through the lower regions. Not good.
