washer fluid in coolant overflow

ok so i have a dilemna here... one of the girls the works the counter at my work has washerfluid in her coolant overflow resvoire, according to the paperwork i'm the last one that did an oil change on her car 2 months ago, at which time i put washerfluid in it in the washer fluid bottle, they're trying to fire my over it which is BS... she gets her fluids checked all the time and topped off without work orders, which i haven't done for her since that oil change... i checked her car out myself and the washerfluid is sitting on top of the coolant inside the resevoir... since i got sent home, i ran a little experiment on 2 of my cars and put washer fluid in the resevoir, after about 20 miles on each car, the washer fluid had mixed into the coolant and could not be seen anymore.... so i'm wondering if anyone else would agree with me that theres no way that 2 months later the coolant had not cycled thru and pulled the washer fluid with it? i need some hard proof that someone else messed it up in the last day or so and they're just trying to throw the blame on me

This situation is about as bogus as it gets. They are actually giving you a hard time about such a petty issue that supposedly happened 2 months ago? What kind of job is THAT??

First of all, the washer fluid would have mixed with the antifreeze a long time ago, and secondly, it would do nothing to harm anything anyway.

Ask them to prove that you were the only person who ever had access to that car, and why this is such a terrible offense that you should be raked over the coals for it.

There is something going on here more than you know.

yeah.... i've been considering moving on.... i'm kinda of sick of a coporate shop, i'd like to move on to a private owned shop.... or my true dream, open a shop building custom hot rods.... but i dont have the best credit yet for the kind of loan i would need for that

Most of us that spent too much time in shops have seen this type of thing or had it happen to us. There is ALWAYS more happening than what you see at the surface.

You will learn more from an environment that is not that one. I have never been afraid to walk away. In fact, I just did it two weeks ago. Myself and a few of my former co-workers have discussed this type of thing to no end. Most of them feel trapped and explain that there is a reason that they are supposed to be there. Now, much of that is likely due to the fact that they are supporting families, but they are not happy and they can not move ahead. I walked away. I know that it is time for me to leave a place when, at the end of the day, I know longer have the feeling that I am accomplishing something.

When I stsrt to hear ridiculous and irrational accusations I know that that feeling is soon to fade away.

looks like i won the battle.... i start working again on tuesday, but they have to pay me my average flag for the 3 days i lost which comes out to 42 hours... plus the girl that tried pulling that shit got caught in a lie and is no longer gonna be working there...i'm still gonna look for a new job, but at least i got a free vacation

Good to hear.....Sad thing in cali is you can sue some one for being from outer space if have the money for a lawyer.I am a carpenter and have had some doozies.Had a lady try to sue because she came home ,forgot to put the car in park and it started rolling towards my new deck I was putting on her house ,the car went thru the deck and down the hill to its demise.She tried to sue me ,saying my constuction was not what it was suppose to be or up to par ,because it did not stop her car from rollin away!!Sad thing is,no matter what the charge,you have to go see the judge,he got a real mean look on his face and slammed the gavel down and said next case:LOL: Some people think the world should be catering to them and all people are to serve and look out for em and when sumthing goes wrong ,its everone elses fault!!:LOL:

CLASSIC!! It really goes hand in hand with the lady that sued McDonalds because she burnt herself with the hot coffee, and won... haha

I'm really happy you got vindicated. That was about as bogus as I have ever heard. But at least they were decent and admitted they screwed up and paid you for the time missed.

I think that washer fluid makes your car run a little cooler. Isn't that coolant addative some kind of alcohol? If it is washer fluid wouldn't do much. Don't feel bad I almost got fired one time for leaving a radiator cap on the first click not the second. When the car got hot coolant gushed out of the radiator when the lady was going home. And she noticed the car smoking and proceeded to drive for another 20 miles that way. She had her vehicle towed back in from her house. It was ok just a little low on coolant. My boss got really hot he was telling me to change t-stat, gasket, head gaskets, basically anything to make this woman happy. I told him that it wasn't my fault she was an idiot. When your car smokes and you just had it worked on you should pull over and raise hell not drive another 20 miles. But in the end I filled it back up with coolant, road tested it for about 20 miles to see if it ran hot. It turned out ok. I just had to swallow my pride and admit I made a mistake. More then half of the techs I worked with at the dealer didn't even do fluid checks and I always did. So I guess my concern for customers caught me in the end.
