kitz.. you kinda got me i don't know what you are saying sorry
if it will idle at 1100 in park, but not 800 in park kinda says it in the tune up and not the trans. get it to idle in park at 900 rpm's and you'll have the problem fixed. i think its a vac. leak or a carb. problem, but i don't know what to tell you to do. do you know how to check for a vac leak?Quote:

no no it will idle at 600 in drive or maybe 500 in drive but it is at 600 or 500 in park it won't in drive see what i am saying it drops about 500 to 600 when shifted
ok got it 1 other thing does it matter were the pcv goes ?? on the carb ot on the manifold semms like the power breaks works best comomg from the bottom of carb not the manifold ....... but i will try the adjustment thanks for helping
if i was you and had a vac. problem i'd block off all vac. lines at the carb. and intake until i got the motor to run right. you don't need them to make the motor run.Quote:

not to tune it in park. blocking the lines off is a way to eliminate a possible vac. leak, at the trans or brake booster.Quote:

the tranny hooked up to intake manifold and no pcv
and at WOT no 4 bbl i used the paper clip
and the tranny shiftes about 4000 at WOT
and 800 rpm in park and 18lb vac
and 500 rpm in drive and 10lb vac
i have some pics also if you want to look
hey, big blocks son here...

this is my vaccum setup. got a line coming form the booster to the carb (look under the vaccum diaphram) and a line from the tranny hookup to the top of the manifold inlet.
18", thats sounds good,10"@500 rpm's dont mean nothing, don't know what you're talking about WOT and paper clip. whats the dif.? you said yesterday it wouldn't idle at 600 rpms. also the vac comes in inches. so it would be 18 " of vac. what kind of trans.? show the pic. is it running any better?Quote:

not a big block lol its a 65 mustang. 65 289 bored 30 over. 204/214 duration, 448/472 lift cam. plus some other stuff.
now that we have the power breaks hooked up and the tranny hooked up we also hooked up the pcv also to the intake mainfold it changes a lot the idel changes when we hooked that up
now we have in park 900 rmp and in drive 450 maybe 500 thats what i am talking about it drops too much almost won't stay running in gear
maybe the pcv is bad its chattering
