oil light staying on to long
I have a 67 buick wagon with a 300 cu. in,it hasn't being running very long, but I have noticed the oil light staying on when I first start it,( about 5 to 8 seconds) does anyone know if thats normal or is it something more serious? (like maybe a bad sending unit or oil pump going bad ) thanks for any info!!

you need to hook a good oil pressure gauge to it so you will know what you have.

I have always add gauges to most of my cars, this one I haven't yet, I don't want to sound too dumb!!
what next if I find that I have low pressure? I do remember the oil pump being hard turnnig(to prime) when I replaced the timing chain, could it be that I have a bad or going bad oil pump? and will I hurt it by driving itcause it's a car I just got going and trying to get all the bugs out of it, it was sitting for about 6/7 years before I got it,
