HI,
I have my pcv valve on the left valve cover and a closed cap on my right. I have a line going from the pvc to my intake manifold and was wondering if the line should run from my pvc to my intake or to my carb?

HI,

It has to wind up in the intake so it could go to the carb if your in the manifold port or directly to the intake
hey denny,
I couldnt post the pics on here so i emailed you at your hotmail adress.
thanx
What's plumbed to the fitting at the top of the intake?
you know i dont know. lol. i didnt put it together so im not sure.
Denny, It acually jsut goes to the carb. It looks like in the pic taht right in front of the pcv it goes into the intake but its not.
I was hooked up only to the manifold where you see the fitting there at the top of the intake but i switched it to see if that would help it or not.
thanx
david
thats where i had the pcv line going instead of to the carb.
lol. ok. i didnt plug it right after i changed it and it ran ok. havent for sure fixed the gas thing, so not sure HOW good it ran. But then i plugged it with my finger while it was running, and then it started to die so i unplugged it and then it started to die again till it died. Is that normal? It wouldnt start after that so i figured cuz it wasnt plugged.
thanx again for all the help.
If it was me I'd run the pvc off of manifold vacumn and run an an open cap to the air cleaner.
may i ask why? I am learning all this some just wondering.
daveid, I have just been talking with NTFDAY on the phone and he will answer your latest question very soon. Stay tuned.
daveid, the engine has to have a way to breathe. Run the pvc from the base of the carb or the fitting on the the intake. Then run a hose from the cap on the right valve cover to the base of the air cleaner.
oh ok. when you say the base of the air filter then just a line that is open up under the air filter, as in theres no fitting or anything it would go in?
Most aftermarket air cleaners have a knockout in the base and you should be able to find a suitable fitting for the hole.
k. ill try that. now im not trying to sound stupid, but would that have any effect on me getting fuel in my oil pan? I dont really get the whole pcv thing, so sorry for the newbie ?
thanx
A wise man once told me that the only stupid question is one that is not asked. The pvc system in and by itself shouldn't cause fuel in the pan, but running too rich to compensate for the vacumn leak will.
