More engine questions

Being that I'm going to put a Turbo on my Falcon's 200 I6, I want to add an oil preassure gauge, boost gauge and an air/ fuel gauge on a mount under the dash, all mechanicle gauges ( except air/ fuel, I also would run copper tubing for oil press ), I also want to keep my stock oil pressure idiot light in functional order, is this possible? or would I need to compleatly disconnect it? also what about using a nitrouse full throttle switch ( for blow off valve activation ) on backwards ( circut closed when throttle is not depressed ) so the blow off valve activates when I let off?

Just put in a Tee where your idiot light sender screws into the block. You can run the idiot light off one side of the Tee and the tube for the mechanical sender off the other side. Sorry, can't hep you on the nitrous.

Cool, that's what I was thinking, just wasn't shure. I'm just thinking of using the nitrouse switch to tell when the throttle is not depressed, and use that for activation of the blow off valve.

why run a blow off valve? if you ran a bypass its more efficient, instead of releasing all that excess pressure into the atmosphere, the bypass reciculates it right back into the intake

how does it do that when the throttle blades are closed?. my understanding was u need a blow off valve, and open when the gas is let off, so the excess preassure dosen't go back on the turbo because the throttle blades close, and cause premature wear on the turbo bearings.

It dumps it back to the inlet of the turbo so it recirculates.

I see how that could work, how do I put it in? couldn't I run a blow off valve but duct it through tubing into the turbo inlet, and do the same thing?

thats pretty much what a bypass does, but its setup to work like that a little better than just that.... your trigger mechanism though, i'm not sure on.... it'd have to be when you let off the gas pedal all the way though...be a lot easier if you had a manual.... which would give that 6cyl a lot more pep too.... i believe a 91-95 ranger 4cyl 5 speed would bolt up on that.... i forget if thats it or not... there is something from a ranger for the 5speed to direct bolt to a 200 l6
