    1st time engine builder.

     



    Hi everyone, Im building a motor for my first time, and can use all of the help i can get... I have a 1982 K5 blazer, and im putting a small block 350 in it. I want to put a mild cam in it, but not sure what kind would be best. Parts i already have, Turbo 400 trans, Race Demon Carb, Hooker Headers, Edlebrock manafold, Flowmaster Exaust, Stock block, and Heads. HELP !!!!! Thanks...

    more info please on what heads, valve size, exhaust pipe size, what edelbrock intake, rear gear, carb, pistons....lots of variables....most wont answer bc of the vague list given

    Start by telling everyone what you want to do with the vehicle. If you know for a fact they have never been rebuilt than get the casting numbers off the block and heads and post it with the info requested above. Maybe someone will get it started for you.

    Only thing I would question in that mix is the race Demon carb.

    On the first time of assembly I would suggest you turn off the whole world outside.Check a number of times the clearances and take as much time as it takes to get it right.No cell phones,NO BEER,no tv's,maybe a radio,no friends to distract you from a total focus on what your doing in a locked door garage.

    And if you get stuck on something,there are no dumb questions.Ask here and you will find the needed support.

    X2 - This is NOT a street carb. There are multiple Holleys and my favorites, several Edelbrock Performers for the street that can be easily tuned.
