    ECU Upgrade?

Anybody know much about the ECU in vehicles? I've got an '85 Trans Am with a Chevy 350 engine and 700R transmission. It already has alot of power, that 350 screams in it. But I was wondering if there was anything I could do with the ECU to increase performance, econemy, or other variables of my engine?

My friend ryan has like 2005 chevy 1500 and he put this Vortec chip in it... it made his truck so fast lol.

There are several places in Phoenix that can do mods to the program for your ECM. An 85 is probably a tuned port....one of the most modified ECM modules. Try Arizona Speed and Marine in Chandler or UMI Racing in Snotsdale.

You buddy Ryan is blowing smoke up your butt. The later model ECMs do not have "chips" that are replaceable....in fact, the modules are sealed. The program is flashed thru the connector at build. It can be changed but not with a "chip"

There are some junk gizmos that plug between the module and the harness connector that max out a sensor signal.....a half-assed modification....kinda like adding a chrome wing nut to your air cleaner.....makes you feel good but it doesnt do squat.

Actually its carburated. I wanted to put a TBI in it but didnt have time to redo the wiring harness for it.
The carb is stock according to the vin number to. Stock was: 305ci 4BBl Carb. stock carb is one of those electric quadrajets. Such a pain in the ass.
Ok so theres no chip in my computer, its just a couple computer modules. I see ok. Ill check into some stuff on it later. Thankz.
