yea dude sounds like its toast.
if the fire got hot enough it could have melted internal parts in the edelbrock carb. like the float and some seals and bushings.
sounds like you'r going to have to start over, all because of a .50cent clamp. makes you want to punch something?
your not alone. just last spring . I was installing a new crank in my car and forgot to torque the rod bolts, only the mains, can you guess what happened when I started it up and brought the rpms to 2500? multi bangs , followed by a bunch of clanking sounds. when I heard this I jamed the pedal to the floor I was so pissed.Destroy your enemy by making him your friend. - Abraham Lincoln
