Edelbrock Valve Cover Question , fellows

Guys,

My wife gave me a very nice gift for Christmas. A set of Edelbrock Classic Aluminum valve covers (part# 4125) for my Chevy SB. When I opened them and looked at them I realized that there is no hole(s) for a breather or oil fill. Now, I looked at the Edelbrock website they do sell side mount breathers that I probably could mount on the side. As for the oil fill, does anybody have suggestion ? I would really like to use these covers. They really go with the "theme" or era that I am striving for. My block is a 76' 350. I am running a Victor Jr. manifold, so I really don't want to drill my manifold. Suggestions ??

It'll give you the "old time" look, be the easiest way to add oil, and give you one of the breather points you need. Plus, if it were me, I'd trade some boy racer the single plane manifold for a dual plane.

Ok, this is where is I am STUPID. Where do I drill the manifold ? I've never done that before and it's quite intimidating.

Okay, let's make sure we're on the same page first. Below is a pic of what I'm talking about with the oil fill pipe at the front of the manifold. I'll have to profess I don't have a good enough memory of the V Jr manifold to know if it's the same on the underside as most dual plane pre-Vortec ones. On the dual planes there's a slight indentation on the underside where the pipe goes. There's certainly a portion of your casting in that space as it covers the hole cast in the block. You'll want to have the fill pipe you're going to use on hand first so you can size the hole for a tight, press fit.

Ever since the exaust fire on the manifolds from improper oil insertion,intake fill pipe for me if I can help it!!!!!unless u wanna carry a funnel or just spill the oil all over the engine.I just need to get the thing all the way into the manifold,seems pretty tight and I dont want to break a 35 year old manifold.
