350 in 64' Buick
Hey Guys,
I just invested in a 1964 Buick LeSabre with the original 355 Wildcat engine in it. The car was a single-owned vehicle before me and with only 58k original miles, the car has been very well taken care of. The engine runs, but needs alot of work. I want to pull the engine out and drop in a 350 chevy engine. Is that possible for me to do? Will The engine bolt into the automatic Buick transmission? Engine mounts? Any cutting I have to do? Wiring harness? Can anybody help me!!

The 350 won't bolt to the Buick trans. The mounts won't work either. I'd find a Buick mill, or rebuild what you have.

Mill?

what is the cubic inch of a 355 wildcat motor? do you know a good website for me to find engine parts for it?
-
355 referred to the torque produced by the motor. It was 300 cubic inches. "Mill" is just another name for motor. You should be able to find parts for it most anywhere.
What Pope was suggesting is to simply find another Buick motor that is in good running condition and bolt it in. That would be the cheapest way to get the car running good again. Check with your local recycling (junk) yards. Look in the yellow pages under auto parts, used.

Rybo, you might want to ask on a couple of Buick forums to get your questions answered definitively...
