Hmm. Well compression ratio on this stock one I think a 8:1 compression I read somewhere. In 87 I think is when they bumped the 305's to 9:1. So I really have no other choice? No aftermarket fully assembled heads for 305's that will do good? I can do the piston thing when I rebuild and should wait for the heads then. If that is the case then what compression ratio is good if I want more power but keep it a streetable motor? I will start with that question since I can't really ask about the pistons yet without know what cam and everything else to run.
All I know is that this 305 is VERY sluggish and has absolutely NO power right now. Of course putting on headers, exhaust and air filter and carb will help but still isn't going to be much more. I want this thing to run better and quicker than my 302. That would be nice I think.
