'49 Chevy Carter YF Carburetor Help
I have a 1949 Chevy Styline Deluxe Sport Coupe with a 216 engine with a Carter YF 787SB carburetor, manual choke. Does anyone know where I can get a rebuilt or new carburetor? If not, is there another carburetor with a manual choke that I can use without having to do any major modifications? Thanks!

A Rochester vacu-jet off a newer Chevy is the best single barrel around. Some had manual chokes. Find one off a '53-55 truck.

Find a converter to convert the 2 bolt carb base to a 3 bolt carb base, then get a holley 94 or stromberg 97, that would do ya. But if you want original carb, www.chevsofthe40s.com has them for like $350 rebuilt/ gaurenteed with a core charge of the old 1, Ebay is also a good place to get rebuildable carbs, often times they'll sell the original intakes with the carbs still on them, often times will go for 10-30 bucks. You don't know what you've got til it's gone
