I owned one. Bought it new, bright yellow, 3 speed on the column, and a 307 2bl with a wopping 200 hp. Or so it claimed on the airbreather. Power nothing, all the engine had was an alto, One fan belt. $1700. out the door. I litterly beat the living crap out of that car. Overhauled the engine twice, a couple of dozen clutches, and several rear shock mounts. I added a 4bl and headers, It would melt a set of L60's into the pavement, but it was dead after first gear. I have no idea how rare they are, the chevy dealer I bought this from sold a bunch of them. It was cheap even for that time.

The 307 was a 283 block with a 327 crank, 3.875" x 3.250"
u can get a stroker kit for a 305 to make it 335 if u need that kind of info im sure it'd work on a 307 to**)
um...no...that kit doesnt work with a 307
Maybe you could bore it 0.030" and use a Scat 3.750" crank. That would make a 359 long stroke motor.
Hey man that 307 does have the same crank as a 327. Good power potitonal. the 327 set up the same way as a 350 will smoke it everytime. I would bore it .040, use a set of gapless rings, if your heads are 58cc use them but put a bigger valve set in with a 3 angle valve job and have the heads ported and polished. Get you a nice cam with about a .490 lift, if you go over .500" lift you need to change the springs. There is lots of good intakes you can use. I like the Aluminum Air Gap from eldbrock. Holley 4 Barrel. I am a Big fan of the Mallory Unilite Distributor. Use some 8.8mm plug wires and I like the Bosh Platinum +4 Plugs. Shorty Headers with dual 2-1/2" pipe and 40 Series Flowmasters.

Some 307's can be punched to 4" bore and use stock 327 pistons. Check for core shift before spending any money, though.
Most 307s can be bored to 4 inches and You can make it a 350 ci. using a 350 crank and std.bore 350 pistons. I know of at least 5 that have been done that way. The only problem with that is if down the road it ever needs to be rebuilt again, you can not bore it any further. If you want a good performance street engine and You want to used the original block--Go for it. If you want a race engine, I wouldn't do that. :)

As much as I loved the 327s and still do, I do not agree with your statement at all. Why do you think Chevy graduated from the 327 to the 350 in 1969 and never looked back. Let me give you this example.
65 to 68 Corvette,327--350hp. 69 Corvette,350--350hp.
350 hp. @ 5800 RPMs 350 hp. @5600 RPMs
Torque 360 @ 3600 RPMs Torque 380 @ 3200 RPMs
Both motors had 11 to 1 compression
Years ago when I was debating on weather I should build a 383 or a 406 I went to a friend who has been building race motors professionally for both Nascar and for the drag racers for over 30 years. I ask this same question. His answer was , A 327 and a 350 built exactly the same and with the same care, the 350 will be faster. A 383 and a 406, the answer would still be the same.

Where in the world did you ever come up with the idea that "Built the same, a 327 will beat a 350 every time"? Sure, there are 327s that can clean the clock of a 350, but the key word is "Built the Same".
The 327 was and still is an outstanding and highly proven engine. However, the 327 and 350 are basically the same engine with the 350 having .248" longer stroke, which equals more torque. Torque = pulling power.
I loved the 327 in it's day, it was top dog, but when the 350 came along, it's "day" ended.
"Built the Same", a 327 won't touch a 350.

Well it is just my opininon anyway so it doesn't matter. However my Uncle had a 65 and a 69 vet the 65 had a 327 with 350hp and the 69 had a 350 with 350hp. The 65 would run circles around the 69. The 327 with a shorter stroke will rve faster and higher giving you a faster engine. But again it is Just My opinion.
what I ment by built the same is, same heads, compression, cam, intake and all that stuff is the same only difference being the crank rods and pistons. Bigger isn't always faster.
