What purpose do freeze plugs serve?

Freeze plugs
They will keep your block from cracking in freezing weather

No they won't. Their only reason for being there is so the casting sand can be removed from the block after castingtheres no foo like an old foo

In theory , but in reality they DON'T keep the block from cracking ...............and don't ask me how i know that"PLAN" your life like you will live to 120.

Thanks!! I couldn't figure out a logical reason that they would be on the block at all....
".......So sanded it all down and resprayed. ......" Been there. done that on a couple of paint jobs over the years. Usually took me a couple of days to get over being mad before I started...
