Starting Problems

I have a 72 chevelle and i'm trying to get it going it was running but then i replaced the brakes and now it won't start.I have replaced the starter and alternator. When i turn the key nothing happens not even a click, but if i try to start it using a screwdriver and touching the positive battery terminal and the small terminal on the soilnoid? the starter turns over. Can someone try to help me or giving me any ideas?

Hey DennyW thanx for the advice i got my engine going and boy did it sound nice to hear, all i did was replaced the neutral saftey switch and it cranked right up.
