Breathers on SBC
I recently purchased a rebuilt 1978 small block Chevy motor. I wish to use old style non vented Corvette aluminum valve covers with an old style breather/oil filler tube inserted in an Edelbrock Performer four barrel manifold (Edelbrock P/N EDE-2101) The EDE-2102 manifold has a punch out to accomidate the breather/oil filler tube. I do not wish to run a PVC valve type breather since I do not want to punch a hole or holes in the Corvette valve covers.
Since the valve covers are not vented and there is no accomidation on this year Chevy block to install a "road tube" (rear breather vent tube) will the single front breather tube be enough to vent the crankcase?. I do not what exceessive amounts of oil dripping on my new rebuilt and repainted engine.Specs
I saw last night on fb about John. The world sure lost a great one. I'm going to miss his humor, advice, and perspective from another portion of the world. Rest in Peace Johnboy.
