I am about a 2-3 years away from starting a hot rod project. Currently I am finishing up an old toyota landcruiser and thinking of doing something different for my next project.

Right now I am at the stage of just keping my eyes open to decide what year/make/model I like and want to use as a starting point. And of course to learn as much as I can.

Aside from the asthetics, I am also trying to figure out what engine I want. Has anybody put together list of engines by year make and model of the vehicle they were originlly installed in? Perhaps the stock horse power as well?

Something to use as a guide when combing the junk yard.

Sorry in advance if this is a FAQ, I am as green as it gets!! Was watching a "build show" on T.V. about rat rods and the spirit of the project sort of struck a chord.
