Engine Swap
I have a 34 Ford with a tired 283/301 that I am swapping out for a ZZ3 350 crate engine. I noticed that the old engine was tilted about 5 degrees to the rear when sitting at ride height and I am thinking I need to readjust the motor mounts to bring the new motor level. Do I really need to go to all the trouble or will the new motor be allright at that angle or will it just create problems with carburetion since I am installing the Barry Grant Six Shooter, three two barrels, on the new motor. Help!

The top of the intake manifold, below the carburator base should be level (in Theory). When it is, the engine will look like it is installed on an angle, running "down" towards the rear of the car.----But think about it for a minute----if being on an angle was a real big concern, how the heck would we ever drive up or down hills???? If the car worked good with the 283 in it, then it will still be o.k. with a 350 in it without changing anything.

There is spoda be 5- 6 deg tilt to the rear measured from carb mounting plate for proper installation, just swap the motor, it's correct as is and needs no fixing.
