We got the old motor out Sunday so it could be inspected, and maybe find out exactly what happened. It looks like lack of oil pressure was the culprit by the looks of the number 7 rod bearing. The crank journal looks like it got a bit hot, I'm supprised it didn't ignite the oil!

Number 7 connecting rod. The blob in the middle is what's left of the bearing.

The poor crankshaft didn't stand a chance.

A closer look at the bad journal. If you look hard enough, you can see the inprint "ARP" from the rod nut hitting on it's way by.

The escape route.

This is what your block looks like on CRACK! If I take a hammer and give it a little tap, I bet I could remove about 1/3rd of that side.
