Give it your all and watch as the people gawk at a 4dr beating rice and mustang alike? Heads up-thank you!
as a spectator...heads up of course...as a participant I'll never be able to afford to compete heads up, so I bracket race..& I do enjoy it... I prefer index bracket racing over dial in bracket racing though
i see you point on the expense part of it...but the cars are divided into diffrent classes...i could never get the dialin right on bracket racing
oh I realize there are alot of differant classes...still, generlly rather expensive to compete
Now, Heads up
in high school, I won the High school drags with a stock, worn out yugo:LOL: Bracket was cool to me then
Otto
heads up has always been more exciting for me
If I can ever stop breaking parts, and stop changing things around in the car so I can get another "good" run, I'll run whatever I want. Right now, I'm having a blast running test and tune and license runs.
I agree with Stepside 454; from a spectator standpoint the heads-up racing is more interesting. Unfortunately, either type of drag racing has become just a contest of money unless something breaks. Remove the stutter boxes, delay boxes, multi-stage throttle stops, tranny brakes, and all that other electronic trash and make the drivers DRIVE again. Then it might become fun again.
Not sure what bracket racing is so I guess i would say heads up is more fun.
I guess I am going against the grain here, I like the brackets. But I agree with J. Robinson, get rid of all the electronics stuff and let the driverers drive mano a mano. I like the brackets because you really have to know your car, and you better cut a good light or you lose. You can have the fun of building a car, going as fast as you can afford, and can still be competitive. You can also build one that does not break a lot of parts trying to get that last hundredth
One of our local tracks has a "No Electronics" bracket class and it is very popular.

Heads up Run what you brung
I'm with Stu on this one...Brackets, sure kills sneaky pete.
I agree (Except for the trans brake) Makes for a cooler launch.Quote:

I hate to see cars that are capable of runing a sec. faster than they dial in so they can come off the line hard and then play games from 1/2 track on to hit their dial in time.
thanks for your responses guys
