I love it too! After being a rabid fan since '58, the cars have become generic... and the multi-team owners overbearing. The only thing that has kept me interested in drag racing in recent years, is to root for favorite personalities and underdogs... or against the ego maniacs, the self-centered, and the angry personalities.

Del is the only driver that I ever met, who actually went out of his way to strike up a conversation! He, and a small handfull of others, are my "heros". :-)
