Now the wait is on for the track to dry out enough to make a good pass. The track (Epping, NH) opens in a couple of weeks and I've been told to wait till May till the shutdown area is a little drier. The last thing to do was to mount the parachute. Damn, I haven't packed a parachute since 1973, I hope I still remember how.

Hopefully spring will get here soon , every one I talk to are chomping at the bit to get thier cars out , to bad march can still bring bad weather.

The weather finally broke enough to be able to get the beast outside. I even managed to try out the line lock and the tranny brake. YESSIR!!!! WEEEEE They work fine. I need a longer driveway though to make sure the chute works. hehehe

If the 4 link is set up correctly, it should never touch the ground.
What if you didn't have that chutte there, would it still stop fine with just the brakes?

Depends some where your runnin' not all shutdown areas are created equal.

The track is long enough, and I have plenty of braking power but, the IHRA rule book states that any vehicle capable of 150 MPH must have 1 parachute, anything over 200 must have 2. I just have to follow the rules. The bar is just to keep concrete off the bumper. Besides, I wouldn't mind having two wheels off the ground, it's when four of them don't contact, that I'd get concerned.:eek:Quote:

Yeah he has a chute but does not need it because are track has a long run off but I think if you are faster than 10 seconds in NHRA they are required to be on your car
Per the NHRA Rule Book.
"4.4 PARACHUTE
Mandatory on any car with top speed in excess of 150 mph (241.4 km/h). "

I don't know if a fly can do the windshield grip, but a hilljack (with enough alkyhol) would sure try............

I think it all depend's on what kind of fly it is.
