Capps went 3.964 in qualifying, National Record if he can back it up!!! .04 or better would do it!
--and in the diggers, Massey went .72 with an 8!!!! National record if he can back it up!!! Then Massey would have both the ET and MPH records!!!!
Sunday should be some good racing!!!
E-town.. always a fast race and lots of records set there. And poor Jegs can't get down the track once! Warren Johnson in 15th for the moment! Be good to see him make the show too!
Well, Massey will have to do it tomorrow.... up in smoke in round 4
Lee (Cheap Trick) Beard didn't get the Cruizer to even make the show!!!!! Tee Heee Heeeeee............................
Capps could only do an .06, so that'll have to wait for Sunday, too!!!
They said it was cruze's second dnq in a row!
If somebody has to DNQ, he's my first choice!!!!:LOL::LOL:
Not quite the showman or personality of his father.
Wow!!! Courtney ran a .12 and took Hagan out in the 2nd round.... He's having a lousy year compared to last year---The Sophomore Jynx, maybe??
Well Massey didn't back up his record run so it's not a record---and Steve Torrance took him out on a hole shot!!!!!!!
Capps still gets a try or two to back up his pass.......
Capps didn't get a back up either---spun the tires and Steve Torrance wins again!!!!
Wow!!! Anderson took out Lines in the final, with Anderson in his new 'Maro--1st time out and a win--also Ken Black's 100th win--in only 10 years, too!!!!!!!
It was some interesting racing and it seems the rain out "reset" the track.. I think it caused the record attempts to go up in smoke. I only got to see the race after the rain delay got lifted, but Capps didn't seem to upset by his final round loss after laying down low number for the meet. And Line seemed all upset by his loss. It looked like he lifted at about 800 feet. But he never said what the problem was... I was really hopin' Enders would get it done, she deserves a win big time!
Jason did say in the post race interview that the engine started getting sick at about 800'. He sure did seem to have wanted to get one more win on the old Pontiac before he gets his 'Maro....
I watched the post race interview and he eluded to the motor but never really said what happened! I actually think he lifted on purpose!! but that's just my cynical side coming out...
Watching KB racing win is alot like watching Hendrick MS win.. kinda like, oh no, not again.... 8-)
And it looks like Robert Hight lost some more points so that'll tighten up the field too!
In 62 Frank had a gas station/repair shop on La Palma Blvd at the edge of Hawaiian Gardens in So. Cal. My dad was living in Long Beach and I'd come up 101/5 from San Diego and turn off at La Palma and after being at Lions a couple of times when he was running I'd stop if there was any body there. He was a pretty friendly guy and Frank Jr. is more like him than the other two.
Perhaps the family's quota of the "personality" gene had already been used up by the time Cruz and Tony came around??????
