Our 'Mishap'
This thread has been a bit slow, so i thought i'd post our season ending crash. The video was taken by a team member of the blown camaro. This was first round qualifying, the Cavalier enters into the video and they continue to record. We were running 1/8mile, 2 weeks earlier we posted a 4.30 in the final and had high expectations, this race was a tuneing session as we planned to run an outlaw promod event on sunday (this film is from friday night).
I had backed down the power for this first pass, and had a single stage NOS at 300hp, the air was very good at we wanted to try to launch with 2 stages at 300hp each - we were sharing our data with Marty Chance (Neal Chance convertors) and he was the one urging us to try it.
The video don't show the launch, we generally get .98 or .99 60' times, i don't recall what we got on this pass. The rear tires go up in smoke near the finish line and John gathers it back in, then it gets loose again after the finish line and he taps the throttle to straighten it back out befor hitting the chutes. I believe the NOS safty system failed and when he tapped the throttle the nitrous came back on - one tire is in the grove and the left tire is in the middle marbles and that drove the car straight into the jersey wall.
John is ok, you can see him open the door right at the end of the video.
Anyway, check the tape, it is:

Very scrarey to watch. Glad he was ok, and sorry about the car It almost looks like slow motion, but I bet it wasn't that way from inside the drivers seat.

Dang - I hate to see those. To much time, money and effort for those nasty crashes. Glad he was OK, though and can race again another day

Wow:Very scary stuff, I am glad your driver is ok.
When they get on top of the wall like that you never know how well it's gonna turn out. I am glad everyone got to be home for the Hollidays instead of in the hospital though.
Thank you Lord.
